Dear Members,
We are excited to announce that Windsor LTC will be hosting the ‘venue stage’ of the ‘Play Your Way To Wimbledon’ (PYWTW) event this year. Entries are FREE!
What is it?
PYWTW is an event that allows players to compete for the chance to play on the grass courts at Wimbledon.
How does it work?
If you win the venue stage of the tournament, you will be invited to compete at the county/area stage of the event, and if you win this stage, you will then be invited to compete in the national finals, on the grass courts, usually in August. Sometimes runners-up and semi-finalists are also invited to compete, depending on the number of entries the club receives at the venue stage.
When is it?
Sunday 19th May 1:30pm-4:30pm
We will be running the following categories:
Singles:
11-14 Girls
11-14 Boys
All players MUST have an ITF World Tennis number between 20.0 and 40.9 (this can be found using the link
https://competitions.lta.org.uk/find/player
and typing in your membership number - it will give you a singles and a doubles ITF number).
This is a very exciting opportunity and we would love to see as many of you entering and competing as possible. If you would like to enter you must be a member of Windsor Lawn tennis club and please sign up at the bar no later than Thursday 16th May. You will not be able to enter the tournament after this date.
