Dear Members,

WLTC needs YOUR VOTE! As most of you are aware, we have been having issues with the clay courts 7-9, where the carpet has started to bunch, notably on the baseline. After numerous site visits and correspondences with both the manufacturing company and Trevor May, it has been concluded that there is a fault in one of the materials used between 2016-2019 (these courts were laid in 2016), which has made the carpet sensitive to dryness and temperature changes.

As a result, it has been recommended that WLTC considers renewing the surface to stop this from happening. Please see below the works that will be carried out:

Courts 7-9 - Advantage RedCourt® artificial clay surface replacement at Windsor LTC

- Take up and remove existing artificial clay playing surface.
- Thoroughly pressure clean existing base. Report any defects found in drainage or levels and discuss any repair works (any repair works will be at additional cost).
- Supply and lay EDEL Advantage RedCourt® artificial clay playing surface, with play lines for three doubles courts.
- It has been assumed that existing tennis equipment (nets / posts etc.) and maintenance equipment is suitable for re-use. No replacements are included.

COST

Standard price: £89,832

Offer*: £71,400

* Given the issues with the surface rucking, despite the surface being out of warranty.

We need at least 10% of the adult membership to vote, with a majority of over 50% voting ‘Yes’ in order to pass the proposal. OR please ask at the bar and you can cast your vote there. Please note that each member is allowed to vote ONCE.

Subject to supplier availability, we aim to have the works carried out at the end of August/early September should the vote go in favour of the courts being resurfaced.
