Dear Members,

Please see team and social update from one of our esteemed members, in the style of 'Lady Whistledown’s Newsletter':

Windsor Lawn Tennis Club Edition

Dearest Gentle Reader,

News has reached my attentive ears, and I simply cannot resist sharing all the delightful tidbits with you. The ton is back to kick off the season, and the social scene is in full swing. The debut event to dust off the shackles of winter and usher in the spring season was a rather unique karaoke event originally hailing from the Far East. It appears that the ton was initially cautious, but spirits were rather high not least as the fare on sale of the libatious nature was free flowing.
Rumour has it that a certain gentleman of the ton has no recollection of the evening. But dearest reader, I have it on good authority that said gentleman was seen with mic in hand on numerous occasions. More to the point gentle reader, there was barely a moment when said mic was free. Surprises of the evening included the rather enthusiastic team rendition of that famous song, We are the Champions, by the majestic ‘Queen’ and the rather more dulcet tones of other members of the ton with duets aplenty.

I know dearest reader that you remain curious about the next event to ensure that you obtain your invitation early; there are after all dance cards to be filled. I am afraid that you will just have to wait for the next edition, but this author can confirm that the singles season officially starts soon followed by the summer doubles league.
This author also has it on good authority that any debutante who wishes to embark on the journey of representing the club in competitions will have the opportunity to try out for a place on a team, subject to ability.

Finally, this author is aware that quite a few Club Tournament matches have taken place. Keep an eye on the leaderboard, darlings, as surprises may yet abound. This author is reliably informed that all matches either must be completed by the play by date or risk losing via a coin toss.
Until next time, I shall continue to watch, listen, and report – for nothing escapes Lady Whistledown’s notice.

Yours truly,

Lady Whistledown
